CREA CERTIFIES ITS QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ACCORDING TO ISO-9001-2000, ENSURING ITS PATIENTS THE BEST QUALITY AND SAFETY IN ITS SERVICES.

CREA is one of the first centres in the Valencia Autonomous Region working in the field of Assisted Reproduction to obtain the ISO-9001-2000 certification. After 12 years of exclusive dedication to diagnosis, treatment and application of quality controls in assisted reproduction techniques, CREA has been awarded this QUALITY GUARANTEE by reaching the international ISO-9001-2000 system level. This control system is put into practice as a further step beyond those normally required when the time comes for checking quality. These procedures ensure exact repetition of the methods used, thus offering superb results with regard to pregnancy rates and gaining customer satisfaction.

In its effort to obtain a global quality guarantee, CREA has been one of the most innovative centres in leading treatments such as cellular vitrification. This is a new freezing method used to minimise the risk of cellular damage, thus contributing to major survival to low temperatures. In the field of assisted reproduction, for instance, this means a high safety rate in the procedures and more effectiveness in the storage of the un-transferred embryos. All this has proven to better the chances of pregnancy in couples who come in for infertility treatment, as the embryonic damage is smaller and the implantation rates are better.

CREA has also been participating in an Integral Project of Improvement in Processes since 2006, and last year underwent the audit of their Assisted Reproduction Laboratories by the prestigious international company Oozoa Biomedical Inc., leader in the assisted reproduction support sector.

The main aim of assisted reproduction centres without doubt nowadays has to go beyond achieving pregnancy, indeed, the safety of all those procedures affecting both the mother and future child must be taken into account.

Organizations of groups of clinics like ANACER (National Association of Assisted Reproduction Clinics), of which CREA is a member, operate within this field, where one of the major tasks is to guarantee the quality of the attention provided by those member clinics. This is the reason why, among other things, the association requires its members to seek ISO certification in all their treatments.

GREATER SAFETY IN ASSISTED REPRODUCTION TREATMENTS

One of the aims of new European regulations on cell and human tissue processing, which came into force in Spain last November, regulated by the 2006 1301 Royal Decree, is to guarantee quality in all procedures affecting the manipulation of human cells used for medical treatments. Quality is understood here as improved effectiveness and safety in these treatments, for both patients and the professionals who carry them out.

This safety is achieved, among other things, through the standardization of all procedural stages and by carrying out standardised protocols, allowing for the traceability of every product and person coming into contact with the treated tissue.

This is the reason why the law insists on a system of external quality control affecting every assisted reproduction clinic. The ISO-9001 ranking is the most extended norm on an international scale used for this external quality control.
